Finding Joy 🌈

“Your inner being is guiding you along the path of least resistance, which also happens to be the path of your greatest joy.” Abraham Hicks

“Truth does not need to fight for itself. It is there quietly holding space until you find it.” Teaching from A Course in Miracles

Welcome back! I’ve recently had some friends ask what’s gotten into me and what in the world have I been doing… why am I so happy? I can say that I have been intentionally and consciously trying to align myself with positive thoughts, unconditional love, kindness, joy, and forgiveness. I’ve been meditating quite a bit, 2-3 times daily now, and finding ways to make myself happy. When I say happy, I mean things that truly bring me joy…painting, reading, writing, running, singing, dancing and being goofy, helping other people, spending quality time with friends, taking time for myself and loving myself first. I have stopped medicating myself with patterns and behaviors that no longer serve me (for the most part as this is still lovingly a work in progress!) 😊

We are meant to be happy. Happiness is a quality of mind- something you cultivate by the way you handle your mind, not what you do with your body. Constantly seeking bodily pleasures can eventually make you unhappy. We all have bodies, and they’re fun to use! But with a purpose, because we can’t take them with us when we leave this earth. The only thing we take with us is our consciousness.

Wherever we choose to put our energy, it will grow because we have been given a creative force. We are endlessly creative, and because we have free will, we can choose where to put that focus. So be the unique you that no one else can be. There is a reason you were born into the family you were born into, learning certain life lessons and themes that were meant to be learned in this lifetime- there are no coincidences or mistakes. Sometimes this is hard to believe or deal with, wondering ‘why did this or that happen…’ , but if you’re reading this, you most likely know deep-down that there is a reason you are here. And you feel like you were meant to do something and you might not know what it is yet. And that’s ok! But there is no other ‘You’ in this universe and no one else can live your life for you or be you. There is something you were brought into this world to do in order to make a difference in some way….. maybe it’s to be a positive influence to people around you, maybe it’s to just be, or to be a teacher, a painter, a musician, a cook, a gardener, a writer, to take care of animals, it could be a variety of things…. being a parent to your kids in the best way you know how, to teach them loving kindness, forgiveness, and unconditional love, to allow and encourage them to be themselves, what an opportunity to make a difference in this world!

By being creative and living in joy (en-joy…enjoy) 😊…. we give a gift to ourselves and we raise our vibration, in turn raising the vibration of the entire planet. Here are a few ideas for starters:

1: What is the one thing or few things that you know you can turn to, no matter what’s going on in your life? Does it bring you joy? Does it bring you peace? Does it benefit you or someone you care about? Do that thing.

2: What were your dreams as a kid? What did you want to be or do? Have you allowed yourself to explore that? Give yourself the gift of learning something new or revisiting a hobby that you love.

3: Make yourself a playlist that raises your vibration – you should feel good when listening to it. If you want mine, send me an email and I’d be happy to share!

If we are too busy to take a little time out to do the things we love, then why are we here? Why did we come to planet Earth at this time? Out of all the time that exists… and out of the trillions and endless possibilities of beings that could be here right now, it’s you. It’s us. It’s now.

“Happiness will not corrupt our society – it will do the absolute opposite. It will bring joy where there is darkness, and love where there is fear.” Teaching from A Course in Miracles Channeled by Tina Spalding

Also please check out my YouTube channel if you want to stay up to date on what is going on. I do angel card readings because it brings me joy and it helps people as well. Win win! A good friend of mine asked me to post a guided meditation video, so I will do that very soon 😊 pretty excited to share it! Channel link below….

Finding that Spark 💫

“Can you remember who you were before the world told you to be?

This quote came from someone, clearly awesome, but I didn’t write down the author at the time… but there you have it!

I have been receiving guidance in dreams lately, showing me my self-limiting beliefs and how they had kept me stuck. Over the last month or so, I have realized that for decades now, I have used the gym as an escape. Not such a bad habit or escape, you might say. I agree with that, however, it became like a drug to me. When I was happy, I wanted to be working out. When I was frustrated or angry inside, I wanted to be working out. It got to the point where if I wasn’t getting to the gym 2-3 times per day, I was unhappy about it. I was basically a prisoner to it.  Not a peaceful way to exist, that’s for sure!

Side-note tangent here: I will say that adopting or continuing a daily exercise routine does feel important. This is NOT an excuse to stop working out and being a beast.  It feels great to move my body the way it was designed to move. But if something is being done in excess… whether it’s working out, watching tv, drinking, drugs, food, shopping, gambling, sex… whatever it is that we seek outside ourselves when we think we need comfort… as long as we search outside ourselves, it will not solve the problem.  That’s just a temporary band-aid. And we will not get the answers we are seeking. (No worries, it only took me 3 1/2 decades and multiple injuries to figure this out! Ha!) So once I woke up to this, I decided to make some changes.

I started paying attention to habits and things that I turned to when I felt I was missing something. For me this just so happened to be working out (obsessively) as well as seeking love outside of myself. Apparently I am very focused on the body. We all have our thing, but we also know we can’t take these bodies with us when we leave this Earth. Nothing physical is permanent. So the goal here is to not rely on external things, the body, or other people, as the source for our own happiness and fulfillment. We already know this, but knowing about something and actually living it- what a challenge!

By waking up to who we really are on the inside, this changes the way we act in relationships and towards ourselves, on a daily basis, in everything we do. In due course, this changes the results we get. We literally manifest those things closest to our hearts desires.

With this post, I wanted to focus on some practical things that I have personally done and continue to turn to for my own internal peace and joy. Maybe some of these ideas will help you as well to continue to raise your vibration. Here they are!

1: Meditation, prayer, sitting quietly with eyes closed looking inward, asking for guidance- sometimes I will find a guided meditation on YouTube, good stuff out there!

*Here’s a channel that has quick 10 min easy meditations: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCN4vyryy6O4GlIXcXTIuZQQ

*Here is an example of a video that I like to fall asleep to. Headphones help as some videos have binaural beats: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVwldhcHf6U

2: Reading or watching a video- something uplifting, such as scripture, or anything that speaks truth to you (for me it’s A Course in Miracles and the daily video lessons) -link in first post

3: Writing/journaling – getting what’s in your mind out on paper so that you can see what’s there. Sounds simple, but it’s very powerful. You don’t have to show it to anyone, but this practice has been very helpful to me personally.

4: Listening to music – something that uplifts you (you know it’s uplifting if you actually Feel good listening to it) I created a personal list for myself and I hit shuffle and let it flow. Always gets me in a high vibration!

5: Do what brings you Joy. Literally in joy (enjoy). This can be a tricky one sometimes because as a society we are programmed out of this. A good hint though: what did you love doing as a kid, or dream about? **

6: Spending time outside in nature. We literally need the sun and it’s energy for survival. Most of us spend so much time indoors due to work, etc.. that we don’t get out much. Enjoy that creation! Play in some water, lake, ocean, plant a garden, etc..

7: Find a way to move your body… walking, running, swimming, yoga… or gym time 😊 just make sure it’s bringing you joy and you feel good about it… clears throat loudly 😉

8: Spend quality time with loved ones, friends, family, pets etc… be present while you’re with them. Appreciate them. Love them unconditionally. As one of my favorite women on this planet says… “говорите о смысле жизни” (talk about the meaning of life).

** I may talk more about #5 (finding your Joy) in my next post. I’m just going with the flow, so we’ll see! Have a great day and thank you for reading! Until next time…

Hi and Welcome!

I decided to start this blog as a way to share my experiences and growth with others, as well as a way to keep myself accountable in moving forward in this wonderful crazy journey.  Posting this and making my inner thoughts publicly available was a big step for me, as this is something I have wanted to do for at least a decade or so, but certain beliefs had previously kept me from it.  It feels that by doing so, I’m stepping into my own power, and if anything I’m saying here resonates with you, I encourage you to follow my blog or reach out to me.  These thoughts and experiences I’ve had couldn’t be contained. They were ready to bubble out, so to speak.

As you may or may not be aware, my dad recently passed away and transitioned from this physical plane about 2 months ago.  It was difficult of course, but I was also at peace with the fact that when it’s time, it’s the right time. I still feel his presence. I feel him in songs. I hear him in words or kind behaviors from others. And he is with me in my dreams on a regular basis. Even with this, it was still a hard pill to swallow, and it caused me to look inward. I feel as though I have been off my path for some time.  With free will to make our own choices, sometimes poor decisions are made: based on fear, based on a feeling of lack or a feeling that something is missing. And you’re searching for that missing link to make you feel whole.  There is no judgment here, we all have our journeys to experience. What I have realized over this little stretch of time is that I was repeating similar patterns in my life, similar events, because of similar thought patterns. Some that lead to peace, and some that lead to suffering and a feeling of lack. Or maybe a feeling that you’re not quite good enough to do xyz… or whatever it is that you’re keeping yourself from that you feel you don’t quite deserve. (Who am I to start a blog? Who am I to start painting just for fun because it’s brings me joy?) Most of us know at this point or have at least heard that whatever vibes and thoughts you put out there is exactly what you receive. #Science … had to throw that in there.

So I looked inward, and asked for guidance- clear guidance that would lead me to truth, peace and the right way of thinking. My answer came in the form of a friend telling me about (or simply reminding me) of this book I came across about 10 years ago called A Course in Miracles.  There is a daily workbook lesson in the back of the book that I could never seem to start and be consistent with. He mentioned that there is a new series of videos on YouTube that go along with it. I’m currently on day (37), and thus far, it’s helped me so much. I feel compelled to share… even if this helps 1 person look inward and find a moment of peace, then that is something to be celebrated.

Here is a link to day 1 of these lessons:

Something I’m also starting to realize is that things bubble up to the surface- certain issues, feelings, or themes- in order for us to see them, offer unconditional Love to that part of ourselves, and clear that issue.  It’s not easy work but it is absolutely worth it- to be free of the thought processes that have kept us in the dark. Again if any part of this message resonates with you, please follow or reach out. Thank you for reading! Until next time….

Be that Light – Be that Love,

Stephanie
